EqSI develops and disseminates simplified technical resources on earthquake-resistant design, structural evaluation, and retrofitting. These resources translate complex engineering concepts into clear, actionable guidance suitable for Indian construction practices.
We organize workshops, webinars, and training programs for engineers, architects, diploma holders, and site supervisors. The goal is to improve technical competence at every level of the construction chain, from design to execution.
EqSI actively promotes compliance with Indian Standards (IS 1893, IS 13920, IS 456, IS16700, IS13935 and related codes) and encourages ethical engineering practices. We advocate for seismic safety to be treated as a minimum requirement, not an optional upgrade.
A significant portion of India’s building stock was constructed before modern seismic codes or without professional engineering input. EqSI places special emphasis on the identification, assessment, and retrofitting of such vulnerable structures using cost-effective and prioritized solutions.
We conduct awareness programs aimed at homeowners, residents’ associations, school authorities, local bodies, and the general public. These initiatives focus on understanding earthquake risk, identifying unsafe buildings, and adopting simple preparedness measures that can save lives.
